One of GILAS/AFUSA partners – the Friends of Asingan NY NJ PA – recently had a picnic and dinner dance with a very special guest of honor – former President Fidel Valdez Ramos. FVR, as many refer to the popular former President, is a native of Lingayan, Pangasinan. Some of you may recall that Nueva Elma, president of the Friends of Asingan, led a very successful fundraising campaign to wire Toboy National HS in Pangasinan to the Internet under the GILAS program. Nueva is the lady in pink to FVR’s right.
